Balbach Principal of Mercury Capital Partners II and Mercury Capital Partners III. After college in 1991 he was a research associate in the Harvard Economics department for Department Chairman Dale Jorgenson. From 1992 to 1995 Mr. Balbach worked as a programmer-analyst for Kenan Systems, which developed expert systems, custom software systems, and telecommunications billing systems. Mr. Balbach worked as a Program Manager for Microsoft and participated in shipping Windows NT 4.0. After business school, Mr. Balbach worked for Reciprocal, a SoftBank Group company and a pioneer in Digital Rights Management and secure digital media distribution over the Internet. Mr. Balbach joined Mercury Capital Partners in 2001 and he specializes in digital media. Mr. Balbach received his BA in economics from Harvard University (Magna Cum Laude) in 1991 and his MBA from the Tuck School at Dartmouth in 1997.

Geoff Baum is Director of
Photoshop.com and an Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Adobe Systems,
where he leads the company's product management and marketing
efforts for Photoshop.com, Premiere Express, and Photoshop Express.
Michael
Bevans
A professional photographer since
1992, Michael began digital imaging as a photographer for Cornell
University’s Digital Imaging Consortium, where he was one of two
photographers responsible for the digitization of the collection at
the Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art. In 2000, Michael worked with
Academic Imaging Associates, Inc. as a digital archiving consultant,
designing and installing digital imaging reproduction systems and
training photography staff at fine art institutions, libraries and
museums including the Library of the Military Academy of West Point,
New York State Library, the Special Collections Department of the
Library of the American Museum of Natural History and the
Smithsonian’s Archive of American Art. Michael is one of the
cofounders of Swiss Picturebank AG where he applies his photography
and archiving experience to design solutions for the long term
preservation of our personal histories. Brent assumed the role of Executive Director of IPI in 2002 after serving on its Board of Directors and as an officer beginning in 1995. A CPA by profession, Brent has owned and operated several specialty retail businesses over his career and is the prior franchisor of a mid-Atlantic group of one-hour photofinishers and portrait studios.
Brent received his undergraduate
education from Georgia Institute of Technology and West Virginia
University and a MBA from the University of Missouri. He has been an
instructor of various accounting courses at both the undergraduate
and graduate level. Jon Finegold is an Internet entrepreneur with a passion for new technologies, particularly those technologies that help connect people. Finegold founded ontri.com, an online community that connects triathletes and marathoners which has become a premiere web site in its category. He led marketing and business development for uLocate Communications, a leader in wireless location based services with their innovative GPS buddy finder application, and while at uLocate led the market entry of where.com an online community for sharing photos from camera phones. Finegold also led marketing and business development at OpenAir, a leading application service provider for professional services businesses and Taral Networks, an early player in picture messaging technology for mobile phones. Finegold holds a B.S. from Allegheny College in mathematics and an M.S. from M.I.T. graduating from its pioneering Sloan Fellows in Innovation and Global Leadership program.

Heuer Bill Heuer is a seasoned marketing and business development leader with broad experience in the consumer products. He is Vice President and head of Casio’s Digital Imaging Division. Prior to joining Casio America Inc. he founded Heuer & Associates a consulting firm actively working with consumer related companies. In his hands-on management roles such as President of Kyocera Optics maker of Yashica, Contax/Zeiss, and Kyocera film and digital products, he dramatically turned around a troubled business with his innovative marketing and product planning. Bill was a member of Kyocera’s North American board, which was responsible for Kyocera’s semi-conductor packaging, cellular phone, printer, specialty ceramic, and solar business in addition to the Optical business that he was directly responsible for. With strengths in Marketing and Product Management, Bill has made important contributions to the growth through successful new product development and technology commercialization at Ansco, Bell & Howell, and several other companies. Bill started his career in the financial area where he was controller of Bell & Howell’s International business and corporate assistant treasurer. He moved into product management and marketing early in his career when he had an opportunity to move to Japan to run a manufacturing operations. He was the only American to run a Japanese plant in Japan for a Japanese company. He also owned his own plastic injection molding business. He is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with an MBA, and received his BS in Economics at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Jef Holve Jef Holove is Eye-Fi's president and chief executive officer, joining Eye-Fi in September 2007.
Prior to this, Holove was vice
president and general manager at Logitech, Inc. where he most
recently led the audio and interactive entertainment business units.
He managed business strategy, marketing and engineering for multiple
product portfolios, as well as developed new categories and
bolstered market positions for the company in the fast-moving
digital music, PC audio, and gaming markets.

Tanguy Leborgne is Pinnacle Systems’
vice president of world wide marketing He joined Pinnacle in late
2004, was instrumental in transitioning the company to the consumer
division of Avid and has played a key role in expanding the depth
and breadth of the firm’s consumer product offerings. With more than
15 years of high tech and software marketing experience, he spent 11
years with Adobe Systems in a number of corporate and marketing
positions in both the U.S. and Europe. He has also developed
extensive strategic and tactical marketing expertise in B2B and B2C
firms.

consumer solutions. Doug Mack provides leadership for the software

Prior to joining Adobe. Mack
co-founded and was CEO of Scene? provider of the leading on demand
rich media platform for e-commerce Web sites such as QVC. Otto UK
and Land's End, which was acquired by Adobe in May 200? Mack
previously co-founded and led GoodHome.com, an award-winning online
home design site and the predecessor to Scene? Prior to Goodhome.com,
Mack served as executive vice president of the Broderbund Home
Division of Mattel. He also held strategy and business positions at
McKinsey & Company and General Electric.

Kalle Marsal is the director of
marketing and product management for the Retail Publishing Solutions
group within HP’s Inkjet and Web Solutions global business unit. The
Retail Publishing Solutions organization enables retailers to offer

McFarland
Graham McFarland is the founder and
CEO of ExpressDigital, a software development company focused on
enhancing imaging workflows for businesses both large and small. Mr.
McFarland has become a well knows spokesperson for the digital
imaging segment of the photographic industry and was recently names
by Dealerscope Magazine as a member of its “40 under 40” list of top
executives.
Mr. McFarland graduated from Texas A&M
University with a BBA in Accounting and has earned his CPA
designation. Michael R. Moore, CEO and founding Visan Partner, provides Visan with visionary leadership in technology, business structure and operations. Through his leadership, Visan is gaining worldwide recognition of its RocketLife property. RocketLife provides end to end solutions for the photo-gifting business via Desktop, Kiosk, On-line, and back-room services. Prior to Visan, Mr. Moore served as CEO of Play. In the spring of 2000 Mr. Moore won the National Association of Broadcasters award for most innovative business model for PSMG, a Play spin off. Muscatello Frank Muscatello is vice president of sales for Pandigital. He oversees all strategic sales initiatives and is responsible for market development as the company expands from North America into Europe, Asia and South America. Prior to joining Pandigital, Frank was vice president of sales for the consumer products division of Playtex Products, where he played a major role in growing Banana Boat from an entrepreneurial acquisition with $25 million in sales to a nationally-recognized sun care brand with more than $200 million in sales.

Carlton Osborne is Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer of Printroom, Inc. He assumed these roles in
August of 2001 when he, joined by a few friends and colleagues,
bought the fledgling business from Lexar Media. Prior to 2001,
Printroom was a wholly-owned subsidiary of Lexar and Carlton served
as Vice President and General Manager of the subsidiary company.
Jonathan is a serial entrepreneur.
Prior to Picnik, Jonathan was the founder and CEO of Phatbits, which
he sold to Google in 2005. This allowed for the deployment of Google
Desktop Gadgets & Sidebar, which was awarded PC Magazine’s "Best
Gadgets Platform." Phatbits has since become a key component of
Google’s overall desktop applications strategy that continues to
reach millions of users daily. Jonathan played a strategic role in the shipping of Xbox games such as Halo, Munch’s Odyssey and Fable, as well as PC games including, Age of Empires, Rise of Nations, and many others.
He was also the Microsoft director of
MSN User Experience and personally delivered the next level of
thought to chairman Bill Gates regarding future of MSN, Messenger,
Hotmail, Spaces and MSN Mobile.
As the President of the International
Imaging Industry Association (I3A), Ms. Walker plays a key role in
leading the imaging industry on collaborative initiatives focused on
driving market growth. Ms. Walker was instrumental in the creation
of I3A as the product of the merger of the Digital Imaging Group
(DIG) and the Photographic and Imaging Manufacturers Association
(PIMA). Prior to her current role, Ms. Walker served as President
and Executive Director of the DIG. During Ms. Walker’s tenure, the
DIG grew from its original 9 founding companies to an impressive
worldwide consortium of more than 70 corporate members. Ms. Walker’s
background includes more than 20 years of product management and
marketing in high tech environments, including responsibility for
both strategic planning and execution for numerous new product
innovations and marketing programs. Prior to joining the DIG, Ms.
Walker played a key role at Canon to identify future growth markets
and opportunities, conduct technology and feasibility assessment of
new product ideas and evaluation of partner opportunities. Ms.
Walker holds a BS in marketing and a Master of Business
Administration from San Diego State University. Erik Weitzman is Senior Director of Services, responsible for managing Shutterfly’s online Share service. Erik joined Shutterfly in 1999 and has led development of a broad set of Shutterfly services-including several generations of Shutterfly’s software and upload tools and Shutterfly’s award-winning collections service. Most recently, Erik developed a strategy for the next generation of online sharing services for Shutterfly, which resulted in the acquisition of Nexo Systems and the subsequent launch of Shutterfly Share Sites. Prior to Shutterfly, Erik was a consultant with Bain & Company. Erik began his career working in product development and strategic alliances at Sanyo Electric in Osaka, Japan and is fluent in Japanese.
Erik earned his BA from Harvard
College and his MBA from Stanford University. In his free time, Erik
enjoys running after his two-year old son and trying to capture him
on video with a Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T100 while his wife takes still
pictures with their Nikon D-40. |
