Keynote:
Ecosystems, Ecology & the Economy
Presented by: Randy
Dazo, Director, InfoTrends
"eco" is from "oikos" (house) spoken by
people of Greece starting about 1000 B.C.. ECO is a prefix that in its
literal sense typically has to do with living things and their
environments. There are 3 ECO’s that have a timely play in the office
equipment industry. In our discussion around Ecosystems, it is less
about the literal environmental ecosystems but more about building these
systems that deliver a neatly tied solution to customers. For Ecology,
there is also a lot of activity around green and the awareness of the
environmental impact beyond the traditional usage of consumables and
paper in our industry such as carbon foot printing. And lastly the
Economy as a bigger system that has played an interesting role in the
office equipment market and IT in general. This session will set the
stage and tone of the ODT Europe 2 day conference theme – 3 ECO’s in a
World in Transition.
